Position SummaryLooking for an Assistant Research Scientist to join a well-funded and well-established lab to conduct studies using in vivo and in vitro approaches for understanding megakaryocyte-bone cell-hematopoietic cell interactions and bone healing. This is an exciting opportunity to work and train with a collaborative and diverse group of researchers in a top-10 musculoskeletal research program at Indiana University School of Medicine.Indianapolis is the capital and most populous city in the State of Indiana. Basic QualificationsTerminal degree or doctorate degree with bone biology and/or hematopoiesis background. This is a non-tenure track faculty position.

Additional QualificationsMust have 2-5 years of postdoctoral experience and be experienced in standard molecular and cell biology techniques such as: cell culture, sterile technique, ELISA, and qRT-PCR. Experience in angiogenesis and viral related therapy is a plus. Must be experienced in basic mouse handling including: breeding, genotyping, and injections. Experience with any kind of surgery is preferred, especially fracture healing. Additional skills: standard light and fluorescent microscopy, bone histomorphometry, bone biomechanics, microCT, x-ray, DEXA imaging, preparation of osteoblasts, osteoclasts, hematopoietic stem cells, and megakaryocytes, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills. Training will be available.
