Job SummaryThe Metcalfe Lab in the UCSF Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General and Pride Hall is seeking a highly motivated Staff Research Associate to work as part of a research team investigating new tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics and drug-resistance.   • BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position or an equivalent combination
  • Experience with standard microbiology procedures such as media preparation, culturing, DNA extraction, etc.
  • Basic molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning
  • Experience working in a BSL-2
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related science and experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position
  • Experience working in a BSL-3
  • Knowledge of how to handle clinical specimens
  • Experience with small animal work
