Job SummaryThe Metcalfe Lab in the UCSF Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, based at Zuckerberg San Francisco General and Pride Hall is seeking a highly motivated Staff Research Associate to work as part of a research team investigating new tuberculosis (TB) diagnostics and drug-resistance. BA/BS in a related science and one or more years of recent, directly related work experience, utilizing the techniques or methods required by the position; and/or equivalent experience/training
Experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position or an equivalent combination
Experience with standard microbiology procedures such as media preparation, culturing, DNA extraction, etc.
Basic molecular biology techniques including PCR and cloning
Experience working in a BSL-2
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a related science and experience with the basic techniques or methods required by the position
Experience working in a BSL-3
Knowledge of how to handle clinical specimens
Experience with small animal work
