Job Title: Project Engineer - Automotive Paint Process
Location: Farmington Hills, MI
Salary: $65-95K + BenefitsMechanical engineers with a strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing shops. We are looking for 2 to 3 engineers with prior paint process & design experienceWhat We Do:We are a client-focused firm providing Manufacturing Engineering & Consulting services to industrial clients across North America. Highly experienced with a diverse engineering skill set, we support clients within their production and warehouse facilities with process design and professional Project Management services from concept through commissioning.What You Will Do:
  • Create paint process layouts using a detailed understanding of the paint process flow.
  • Perform site field checks as needed
  • Understand the specialized requirements and concerns associated with typical paint shop
  • Develop bid package drawings and scope of works for paint equipment.
  • Review vendor drawings for conformance to specifications and standards.
  • Review vendor schedules to identify potential conflict and determine status of progress.
  • Visit vendor sites to ensure fabrication progress and spec conformance.
  • Chair engineering meetings with customer and vendor. Attend project meetings
  • Provide installation and start up support at various assembly plants.
REQUIRMENTS
  • Pervious experience with design, layout, or installation of paint shop equipment.
  • Understanding of paint shop process requirements.
PERFERRED SKILLS
  • Prior experience with design and layout of paint shop processes greatly preferred.
  • Prior Paint Shop process equipment installation support preferred.
  • Prior experience in developing bid packages for paint equipment.
  • Willing to travel in the continental US for extended periods a plus.
  • Basic 2D AutoCAD skills preferred
  • Ability to attend and chair meetings on their own.
  • Automotive plant experience in a union setting desired
  • Must be able to work on a cross-functional team and on your own
