Heavy Equipment & Mechanical Maintenance SupervisorLocation: About an hour north of Midland, TXIf you currently work for a dealership, consider an alternative that offers stability, better work hours, and holidays off.Overview:This is a large, stable company in need of a Heavy Equipment & Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. Leading the mechanical maintenance team, this role ensures efficient maintenance support for waste processing, storage, and disposal to facilitate plant operations.Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the mechanical maintenance staff, overseeing daily tasks, PM schedules, and emergent work orders while providing mentorship and development opportunities.
  • Manage assigned work for the mechanical maintenance department, including obtaining quotes, estimates, and materials within project specifications.
  • Ensure accurate input of materials into the CMMS program and proper closure of related work orders.
  • Conduct inspections to ensure materials and processes adhere to plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate staffing levels to meet workload demands.
  • Collaborate with various departments including staff, operations, management, and engineering in decision-making processes.
  • Manage inventory and generate purchase requests as needed.
  • Adequately train staff in order to prevent errors and promote safety among team members.
Qualifications:
  • Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, four years of experience in automotive and heavy equipment repairs (gasoline and diesel engines), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge and experience in fleet management, electrical and computerized emission control systems, DOT requirements, and heavy equipment mechanics.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • The ability to write simple correspondence and effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings.
  • Competence in basic arithmetic operations, rate calculation, and familiarity with standard and metric measurement systems.
  • Manual dexterity, balance, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds may be necessary.
