CISCO Team Network EngineerChicagoAbout The Role:We are actively seeking a skilled and seasoned CISCO Network Engineer who is prepared to become a valuable member of our customer-focused internal Network team. You'll be tasked with managing our computer networks on a daily basis and delivering level 1network operations center (NOC) assistance to both clients and vendors. This includes escalating and working with our networking team to resolve connectivity related issues. Your primary duties will include regular maintenance of our computer networks, plus you will assist in network documentation and performing regular disaster recovery testing. You'll collaborate closely with our broader network team to contribute to various networking design and provisioning initiatives. Top of FormThis is a full-time salaried role based in Chicago, and you will report directly to the Director of Network Services.What You'll Do:
  • Observing our network's performance and availability.
  • Delivering primary network support for connectivity issues involving clients and vendors.
  • Assisting and addressing customer inquiries and concerns for our collocated clients.
  • Interacting with end users and maintaining professional communication while managing their expectations.
  • Executing regular failover and disaster recovery tests as part of our planned activities.
  • Supporting the development and deployment of network security protocols.
  • Aiding in the continual upkeep and documentation of our network and security systems.
  • Participate in the planning, rollout, and setup of new network projects.
What We're Looking For:
  • A bachelor's degree in network engineering or equivalent qualifications and background.
  • 3-5 years of network engineering field expertise.
  • Having vendor-specific certifications, such as Cisco, is advantageous
  • A solid grasp of networking protocols and infrastructure as a whole.
  • Proficiency in deploying, managing, and diagnosing networking equipment, including firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Familiarity with CISCO, ARISTA, and Palo Alto Network devices is considered an advantage.
  • Having experience in multicast configuration is a beneficial asset.
  • Experience in cloud networking is an advantageous qualification.
  • Experience in providing Network Operations Center (NOC) support to clients.
  • Having experience in network security is considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in producing precise network diagrams and documentation.
  • Familiarity with the financial markets is considered advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Capacity to rapidly acquire proficiency with new or unfamiliar technology and products through the use of documentation and online resources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
