This is an opportunity to join the School of Health and Natural Sciences with 4 accredited graduate health professional programs (communication disorders, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and physician assistant studies) and undergraduate programs in biology (general, biomedical, animal sciences, and education tracks), clinical laboratory science, communication disorders, exercise science, occupational therapy assistant (AAS degree), and veterinary technology. Salary for this assistant professor, multiple year track position, is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.   • Earned terminal degree or significant progress towards a terminal degree in Biology
  • A commitment to and experience in teaching general biology and courses within one of the general, biomedical, and education tracks in a diverse undergraduate student environment
  • A strong, demonstrated commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching, productive scholarly research, impactful service to the University community, and mentoring of undergraduate students
  • Experience in integrating innovative approaches to promoting student success and developing an inclusive community in the classroom
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively with faculty from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds
  • Strong computer skills
  • Experience teaching online
  • Ability to teach at the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses as needed
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentorship to adjunct faculty
  • Ability to actively participate in University, school, and department meetings
  • Ability to complete other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to push, pull, move, or lift to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to meet all general health requirements for the position as per University policies.
Compensation offered will be commensurate with the educational background and work experience of the individual.Mercy University promotes a community campus environment.
