Job Description:JOB SUMMARYThe Journeyman Plumber will apply their technical skills and knowledge in performing diagnostic, service, and installation of plumbing in residential and light commercial environments and ensure that work is performed in accordance with relevant codes.JOB DUTIES:
  • Install and repair water, gas, and other plumbing systems in Commercial and environments.
  • Run copper, cast iron, PVC, Acid Waste, and other plumbing systems.
  • Inspect structures, locating and marking positions of pipes, connections and passages within walls and floors.
  • Identifies potential problems to prevent premature and/or unexpected breakdowns/callbacks.
  • Maintains and repairs plumbing systems carrying water, steam, chemicals, and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems.
  • Inspects high-pressure, air, steam, water, and gas systems to ascertain malfunctions.
  • Troubleshoot and test installed plumbing systems.
  • Assemble, install, maintain, or repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, water heaters etc. utilizing correct procedures and/or hardware.
  • Utilize blueprints or technical diagrams following state or local building codes.
  • Promote, maintain, and adhere to OSHA regulations.
  • Studies building plans and inspects structures to assess material and equipment needs, establish sequence of pipe installations, and plan installation around obstructions.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, ream, and install pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Attends weekly departmental meetings.
  • Submits all complete paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Journeyman Plumbing License.
  • 10+ years of related commercial/industrial experience.
  • Working experience using blueprints or technical diagrams.
  • Experience in layout and installation of all sizes of copper, cast iron, gas, acid waste and PVC pipe.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Knowledge of water distribution and disposal systems and building codes.
  • Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid Maryland Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
