Is proficient in problem solving skills and is capable of independently performing troubleshooting functions regarding maintenance, repair, and construction. The Journeyman Electrician exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with JLL policies and procedures.Location: Chicago, IL (100% onsite)Shift: 3rd shiftTarget compensation: 45 - 46/hrPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and repair Normal and Emergency power distribution systems.
  • Maintain, repair and test, Emergency generators and associated equipment, Motor Control Centers, Fire Alarm systems and devices, and a Pneumatic Tube system.
  • Install Telephone lines and punches down to IDF.
  • Install and maintain indoor lighting circuits, outdoor lighting circuits, power outlets, motors, and battery back up systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge:
  • Basic Elementary School, High School diploma, or GED.
  • Must have completed a 4-year apprenticeship program and/or have equal experience. Is proficient in electrical construction and installation of electrical devices and equipment in a craftsman-like manner
Skills:
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, service manuals, and instructions as necessary to complete all work assignments.
  • Has a working knowledge of the federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations applicable to this trade.
Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in the performance of a job assignment as well as as the physical strength and dexterity to effectively perform work assignments
Tools:
  • Owns a complete set of hand tools necessary for the trade.
