Locally owned and operated!About the position: This is a hands-on, full-time position with day-to-day duties that oversee and assist with daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. This includes hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices along with various administrative tasks assigned. This position must be able to work under tight deadlines and will also be responsible for onboarding new hires and supporting the Company with various talent acquisition needs. The role is also strategically focused and will be an active member of the Leadership Team. The Sr. Generalist plays a key role in the long-term success of the company and actively drives desired culture and core values.Compensation Range: $70k to $90k (DOE)Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Essential functions may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics.   • Directly responsible for all human resource programs and routine generalist tasks including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments (i.e., safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and certifications).
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Implement new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Responsible for employee onboarding.
  • Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Assist with documentation review; attend and participate in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Responsible for all HR-related aspects of opening offices in different states as needed.
Recruiting:
  • Oversee and review job requests, sources, recruits, matches, and screens; interview applicants against the required job requirements, utilizing applicant tracking system or actively searching for qualified applicants.
  • Verify employment applications and work history, education and training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications of applicants.
  • Recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills, duties, competencies, and other related data required for openings.
  • Responsible for hosting and attending job fairs, college career fairs, and technical schools to obtain and recruit talent.
  • Conduct or acquire background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Keep records of applicants not selected for employment.
  • Responsible for candidate evaluation, selection, and placement by conducting research or follow-up activities and conferring with management and supervisory personnel.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience required for this role:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience recruiting required, in the construction industry preferred.
  • 5+ years’ of human resource and office management experience required.
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English required.
  • aPHR, PHR, or SHRM-CP is a plus.
