- Perform onsite inspections and evaluations of physical facilities nationwide to determine actual condition of existing buildings, their functional adequacy, compliance with code requirements, including life safety, health, handicap, energy conservation and environment, and examine existing facilities, utilities and site for renovation, reuse or functional modifications
- Support development of budget estimates and justifications for requests and verify the already identified work/conditions submitted by facility managers during inspections and evaluations
- Ensure that schedules, inspections, materials, methods, and equipment used in planning, design and construction are appropriate and timely.
- Develop plans and conceptual design solutions for renovations and improvements to facilities.
- Support the initiation of projects or provides technical assistance in identifying and/or verifying facility conditions, repair estimates and timetables
- Evaluate and recommends potential solutions, renovations and improvements of existing facilities
- Review proposed sites for a project, evaluates, and makes recommendations as to adequacy with regard to topography, subsurface conditions, utilities such as water, sewer, gas, electric power and heating systems, and development costs, and other pertinent factors
- Enters information from the ventilation assessment reports into the MAXIMO asset management system
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or related degrees required with a license preferred
- 10 years' related experience
- Experience in ventilation/HVAC system engineering and water system engineering is preferred.
- Knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of facilities planning, architecture and engineering sufficient to serve as a team professional for the development of project Program of Requirements (PORs) for use in major improvement projects involving existing sites
- Government experience preferred
- Ability and experience to lead a team of professional and technical workers to accomplish team goals and objectives in the planning, design, and construction of IA systems and facilities.
- Extensive experience in project management for facility improvement is required
- Average agility and dexterity. Duties will include moderate walking over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heave objects less than 50 lbs. and regular visits to construction sites
- Must pass a pre-employment background check
- A federal background security investigation will be required for all new hires once employed. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication.
