Multi-Service Technician for Support Services40 HourDay Kimball Healthcare is Hiring Multi-Service Technician!Job Title: Multi-Service TechnicianDepartment: Environmental ServicesWeekends: Every otherMulti-Service Technician for Support Services Job Summary:The Multi-Service Tech of Support Services transports or escorts patients within the hospital and or operates the call center functions. They may work in either a Service Response Center (call center environment) or in the Transport role separately or in between the two throughout the day depending on departmental needs. Their main functions are to handle customer service interactions through telephone, email, or face-to-face communications. The Multi Service Tech may be required to record and document various client interactions for management follow-up, operate as a switchboard to route incoming calls to the appropriate party, and provide administrative duties for guest services and similar facilities or locations. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but other responsibilities may be identified within the position.Multi-Service Technician for Support Services Essential Responsibilities:
Directs or escorts patients from the admitting office or reception area to a designated area
Assists patients whether ambulatory or non-ambulatory
Transports patients alone or with assistance, in a bed, wheeled cart, stretcher, gurney or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility
Confirms two patient identifiers (patient's name and date of birth); validating information against patient's wristband.
Receives documents, prioritizes and coordinates service requests such as patient transport, maintenance requests, non-routine EVS / housekeeping needs, and nutrition service late trays.
Dispatches service workers to complete service requests.
Determines and schedules service requests according to urgency and keeps records of requests and services rendered within the TDSS system.
Multi-Service Technician for Support Services Qualifications:1. High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred2. Current AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification or equivalent within 3 months of hire required.3. Current NVCIT (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training) certification or within 3 months of hire required.4. Ability to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing5. Excellent listening and telephone skills6. Must possess excellent customer service skills7. Ability to relate well to others and work as a team member.8. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.9. Is physically compatible with the constant walking required and the need for quick response to stat needs.Multi-Service Technician for Support Services Experience Requirements:1. Previous patient care experience or Transporter experience preferred as well as office experience preferred.Multi-Service Technician for Support Services Physical and Sensory Demands:
Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus, with or without corrective lenses.
Ability to work in a sitting position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and occasionally lift/move 35-40 pounds.
Significant walking or other means of mobility, depending on business necessities.
