Through our innovations, our customers can drill and complete wells faster and more efficiently and realize higher production rates at lowest cost per barrel.Partner with the bestAs a R&D Chemist /Chemical Engineer, you will be proving and validating the viability of technologies from their conception to first deployment through the application of scientific and engineering methodologies. You will take ownership of research and development projects for novel solutions to existing and new challenges in Oil and Gas and Geothermal operations. You will demonstrate through test or analyses the performance and implementation potential of a concept.As an R&D Chemist / Chemical Engineer, you will be responsible for:Conducting research and experiments to analyze data and test hypotheses to gain an understanding of products and processesApplying sophisticated scientific understanding to research or development problems to provide inventive solutions toward new development effortsCollaborating with research and manufacturing functions throughout product development cycle projects to ensure successful project deliveryCommunicating research results to stakeholders through reports and presentationsCreating and protecting intellectual property for our company to ensure ownership of our products and designsWorking in R&D, product modification, product scale-up, and chemistry troubleshootingFuel your passionTo be successful in this role you will:Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or other scientific/petroleum degree3-5 years’ experience working in the Drilling & Completions Fluids industry preferred2 years’ experience working in a Lab is preferredHave a strong foundation of laboratory skills and safetyAbility to develop new test methods for in-depth product characterizationShow a solid understanding of chemical structure-property relationshipsBe able to show excellent problem-solving, process improvement and analytical skillsDemonstrate a basic understanding of project managementYou must be able to regularly lift and stand for an extended amount of time/frequently lifting and/or moving up to 50 poundsHave excellent written and verbal English skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environmentBe able to travel to visit customers or Baker Hughes locations 10%Work in a way that works for youWe recognize that everyone is different and that the way in which people want to work and deliver at their best is different for everyone too.
