For additional information on the Air Pollution Control District, please .The SDAPCD is currently accepting applications for Air Pollution Control Civil Actions Investigator, to fill an immediate vacancy in the SDAPCD's Compliance Division, and to establish an eligible list for a period of six (6) months. The selected candidate for this position will be assigned to the Kearny Mesa/Scripps Ranch area of San Diego (10124 Old Grove Road, San Diego, 92131).Air Pollution Control Civil Actions Investigators are responsible for settling violations of SDAPCD rules, and other State and Federal air quality regulations. Air Pollution Control Civil Action Investigators are also responsible for presenting during sessions of the SDAPCD Hearing Board and Small Claims Court.WORK SCHEDULE
The current vacancies for Air Pollution Control Civil Actions Investigators may be assigned to work a hybrid schedule.
HIRING TIMELINE AND DATES
- Job Offer and Background Process begins in May 2024. Note: Current County employees may be excluded from additional background screening.
- Pre-employment Medical Screening: Approximately 3 days following successful background investigation results.
- Anticipated Start Date: Start date will be based upon successful completion of medical screening or other mutually agreed upon date.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in chemistry, physics, engineering, environmental health, environmental science, biology, or closely related scientific field; AND; two (2) years of professional journey level regulatory experience in an air pollution, air quality, or closely related entity; OR,
- A masters degree from an accredited U.S. college or university, or a certified foreign equivalency in the fields listed in #1 above; AND; one (1) year of professional journey level regulatory experience in an air pollution, air quality, or closely related entity.
