Description :This position holds responsibility for maintaining safe and clean work areas, ensuring adherence to quality standards consistently. Additionally, the role involves managing department budgets, including payroll, OT%, and productivity rates. It also encompasses overseeing the flow of goods throughout the inbound process, from the receiving dock to bulk racks to stocking, as well as preparing outbound picking operations before 1st Shift. Moreover, the position involves providing leadership to develop Supervisors, fostering a team environment, and driving continuous improvement across all areas, all while working towards achieving the company’s goals.Responsibilities Include:
  • Maintain a complete understanding of warehouse operations
  • Responsible for building-wide decision making for all 3rd shift team members including Maintenance and Loss Prevention
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating, training, and utilizing all warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, electric pallet jacks, order pickers, and reach trucks.
  • Identify and implements process improvements in a highly technical and complex environment
  • Drive a culture of accountability and results through strategic deployment and effective performance management to desired outcomes
  • Effectively communicate and engage with all levels of the organization as well as key suppliers and customers
  • Provide leadership and talent management to their team by promoting team concepts, coaching, mentoring, training, individual development and creative problem solving
  • Assist with the development and management of department budgets minimizing the need and use of overtime.
  • Complete daily end-of-shift and other required reports.
  • May interview applicants and conduct orientation and safety training for new hires as needed
  • Ensure probationary and annual performance reviews are conducted in a timely basis for department team members.
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and safety in assigned departments.
  • Occasionally adjust schedule to attend training during first shift hours or participate in meetings just before or after the normal shift start.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or equivalent related warehouse management experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership and management experience
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Experience managing and maintaining positive external business relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly motivated to meet personal, team, and corporate goals
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent service for both internal and external customers
  • Ability to positively motivate individuals and teams to meet or exceed expectations
  • Management style that complements a culture of high integrity throughout all areas of internal and external business activity
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and write short correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
