OverviewDirects the maintenance activities on a designated shift in a safe and efficient manner to achieve the desired quality, quantity and timely maintenance of all production machinery/equipment, physical plant, utilities and grounds in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, directs & supervises Maintenance technicians and ensures compliance with company policies.Shift:
  • 3rd Shift (approximately 10pm-7:30am) Sunday Night – Thursday Night. 1 weekend a month on call if needed.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinates shift maintenance activities through the supervision of employees to ensure the shift’s maintenance objectives are accomplished in a timely, cost-effective and safe manner.
  • Coordinate the preventive maintenance program on the designated shift to maintain production equipment and alarms systems in an efficient, safe operating conditions.
  • Coordinate shift activities with outside vendors on projects or repairs.
  • Audits, controls and minimizes the shift’s overtime labor costs, maintenance/repairs cost and equipment downtime.
  • Oversees corrective actions and running adjustments of equipment to maximize production capabilities during shift.
  • Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with employees, other management, customers & vendors.
  • Coordinates shift changes over of equipment or preventive maintenance according to production schedule.
  • Ensures compliance to all federal, state and local laws and company policies.
  • Provide training, direction, development, evaluation, coaching and leadership to employees.
  • Maintains good employees, corporate and community relations.
  • Coordinate with other department managers and supervisors to ensure proper purchasing, processing, packaging, accounting and inventory control activities and procedures, while keeping availability of items needed at the proper level.\
  • Maintains company standards for cleanliness, safety, and productivity in the maintenance area.
  • Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer, and government standards.
  • Performs other duties/responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food related industry.
  • 3-5 years’ experience as a maintenance supervisor prefer but not required.
  • Must have ability to effectively communicate-verbally & writing with employees, Management, customer & vendors.
  • Strong electrical and PLC skills set.
  • Working knowledge of scheduling, budget, equipment, and productions and computer processes.
  • High School graduate or equivalent plus multiple area of technical training courses or technical school background.
  • Required to pass respiratory function & fit test to wear full respirator and SCBA.

Working Conditions/EnvironmentWorks in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, grasp and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to move 75 pounds 25 feet or more. Must be able to stand for an 8-10-hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks while performing repetitive work. May be required to work overtime, weekends and/or holidays as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the plant is loud. Earplugs, safety glasses, beardnets (if facial hair exists), hairnets, and steel-toed / slip-resistant shoes are required in the plant in accordance with company GMP and safety standards. Must maintain a clean shaved face to facilitate wearing a Full Face Respirator.
