Our team of Speech Language Pathologists have Certificates of Clinical Competence through the American Speech Language Hearing Association. This internationally recognized credential demonstrates that our commitment to providing top notch care to those seeking help with communication and swallowing disorders.In this role, you will be responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages. In the in-patient unit, you will be working with individuals under who require diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitative care planning (as needed). You will also be helping to improve the patient experience/quality of care by responding to any of the patient’s special, physical, emotional, spiritual and/or age-specific related needs. The Glens Falls Hospital ImpactMissionOur Mission is to improve the health of people in our region by providing access to exceptional, affordable, and patient-centered care every day and in every setting.How You Will Fulfill Your PotentialResponsibilities· Screen and/or evaluate speech, language or swallowing disorders in patients of all ages according to clinical guidelines and department policies using procedures which are appropriate for the patient’s age, skill level and medical diagnosis· Formulate diagnosis, prognosis, recommendations and communicate these to patient, family and other appropriate professionals· Provide education and communication to patients, families, other professionals and the community regarding communication and swallowing disorders· Formulate goals and implement therapy techniques and procedures that are appropriate for the patients age, skill level and diagnosis· Maintain appropriate documentation including evaluation reports, goals, daily therapy log, and patient notes· Supervise graduate students in Speech Pathology, clinicians during the clinical fellowship year and volunteers· Participate in interdisciplinary rehabilitation program development and implementation· Occasionally participate in community service activities· Participate in departmental decisions regarding program development, case management, continuing education, material and equipment procurementQualificationsQualifications/ExperienceEducation/Accredited Programs· MS, MA, or M.Ed in Speech Pathology/Communication Disorders required· Continuing education and experience in dysphagia and voice disorders requiredLicenses/Certificates/Registrations· New York State License in Speech Pathology required· Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association required· Valid NYS Driver’s License for travel between sites for the provision of care and meetings required· CPR Certification requiredExperience/Abilities· Ability to operate computer, recorder devices, and visual feedback devices· Ability to transcribe phonetics· Demonstrate the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical clinical information· Ability to tactfully communicate evaluation results· Ability to apply and interpret complex mathematical concepts such as validity, reliability, variance, etc.· Ability to problem solve independentlyCommunities We ServeLocated in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack mountains, Glens Falls is conveniently located a short drive away from the capital region and Lake George. The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $30.57 tp $53.17 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.Benefits
