- Lead a team of over 30 combat systems engineers and analysts dispersed across Washington, DC, Bath ME, and Pascagoula MS.
- Manage and report on your team's day-to-day activities in support of DDG 51 class ships test, certification, and delivery to the Fleet.
- Provide combat systems programmatic, engineering, technical assistance; track test events and trials related to AWS, AMDR and Weapons Systems.
- Evaluate equipment, system, and procedural issues.
- Compile reports related to shipboard inspections, certifications, assessments, and sea trials in the above areas.
- Coordinate and support the resolution of specific issues within the technical community and maintain direct interface with Participating Acquisition Resource Managers (PARMs).
- Lead and coordinate activities across the Combat Systems enterprise including SME efforts in AWS, AMDR, C4I, Weapons, Cyber, LFT&E, and industrial test.
- Coordinate activities across other program office tasking to include production, engineering, post-delivery, and configuration management teams.
- Track all ECPs to the AEGIS Combat System (ACS) throughout all phases of the DDG 51 Change Control Process.
- Participate and track all ECPs presented at PEO IWS Integrated Combat Systems Enterprise Change Control Boards (ICS ECCB) that are applicable to DDG 51 Class ships within the SCN window. Review, update, and maintain Post Delivery Availability (PDA) / Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) planning tool.
- Participate in regularly scheduled change board meetings, technical working groups and participating program manager reviews and conferences. Update and maintain the Afloat Master Planning System (AMPS) to reflect Combat System areas.
- Develop and maintain the DDG 51 C/S Integrated Test Schedule.
- Provide expertise, support, and analysis for AEGIS Weapon Systems (AWS), Air and Missile Defense Radar (AMDR) and Weapon Systems by assisting in the coordination of Combat Systems specific events and tests in support of Acceptance Trials (AT), Final Contract Trials (FCT) and Post Shakedown Availability (PSA) planning activities.
- Evaluate direct report personnel performance and make recommendations on merit increases.
- Assist with other personnel actions such as hiring actions, time recording and training.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance
- US Citizenship
- A Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or related discipline.
- An Associates Degree and 2 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree or a High School Diploma/GED and 4 years of additional experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- 5 years of experience (Combat systems experience highly preferred)
- Experience with Leadership/management experience or similar experience.
- Experience serving on Combatant ships or in a combat systems role supporting a Navy program office or similar experience.
- Experience with shipboard testing or similar experience.
- Experience and/or knowledge working with the AEGIS Combat System or similar systems.
- The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.
