Applications will continue to be accepted until this date.Position descriptionThe UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music's programs in Music Industry invite applications for part-time lecturer positions for the 2024-25 academic year. Salaries commensurate with applicant qualifications and experience; percentage of appointment commensurate with number of classes taught.Responsibilities will include individual student teaching supervision and assigned undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Music.Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music industry professional; expertise and experience in the development of music industry curriculum is preferred. Experience with instruction at a university level is preferred. Applicants with a graduate degree in Musicology or related fields is preferred.The application deadline is August 1, 2024 for Fall quarter, November 1, 2024 for Winter quarter, and January 1, 2025 for the Spring quarter. The anticipated appointment date of October 1st, 2024 for Fall quarter, January 1, 2025 for Winter quarter, and April 1, 2025 for the Spring quarter.Applications should include a letter stating interest in the position, summarizing relevant experience in the music industry, including a brief philosophy of teaching, a letter stating contributions to equity, diversity and inclusion, a comprehensive resume or curriculum vitae, and names and contact information for at least three professional references.QualificationsBasic qualifications (required at time of application)-Experience as a music industry professional and/or educator.Additional qualifications (required at time of start)-Applicants should have an established regional, national, and/or international reputation as a music industry professional.Preferred qualifications-Experience and expertise in the development of music industry curriculum is preferred.
