Job Description:As a Sr ETL Developer on our Data Delivery team, you will serve as a critical resource in building and executing on Chubb's information strategy in support of our personal lines business. With us, you'll leverage your experience working across data warehousing and business intelligence environments to work with data sources spanning various platforms, sources, and data types. You'll build and execute complex ETL jobs that marry multiple, disparate sources together, bringing data from across the personal business into a central repository utilized by our stakeholder teams to conduct studies, develop reporting, and put together complex analysis that directly impacts the advancement of our business. In so doing, you will partner with peers as well as Data Analysts, Testers, and Report Developers to assess data requests made to our team, as well as to evaluate the up and downstream impacts of those changes within our environment. Your role will be instrumental as we acquire, cleanse, and transform the data that is at the core of our business.In this role, you will:
  • Take ownership of your projects and deliver high-quality data-driven solutions
  • Work across data sources and types to build, optimize, integrate, and/or troubleshoot the ETL jobs that bring data from across the personal lines business into a centralized repository
  • Collaborate with peers and stakeholders across business and technical teams to define requirements, identify source data, assist with high level data designs, analyze, and troubleshooting data issues
  • Conduct senior level analysis utilizing SQL to facilitate the data integration process through profiling data, understanding relationships in the data, and validating the integrity of the data
  • Synthesize data, uncover inherent trends in data, assess impacts of data on business usage, and make recommendations for improvement
  • Create UNIX shell scripts to perform file level validation and analysis
  • Create Jll files and utilize AutoSys for job orchestration, monitoring, and reporting
Qualifications:
  • At least 5+ years of experience in an ETL Development role showing a strong understanding of ETL development concepts and tools such as AWS Glue, Google Dataflow, Azure Data Factory, Snowflake, etc.
  • Strong experience working with Informatica PowerCenter / IICS and other Informatica offerings like Informatica Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC)
  • Experience working with enterprise class RDBMS platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2; must have worked on ETL efforts in one of these environments
  • Must be able to read, understand, and interpret data models
  • Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating ETL work with an onshore/offshore vendor team
  • Experience mentoring and leading junior developers, especially in an onshore/offshore model including the flexibility to manage work schedule as needed to support onshore/offshore model
  • Proven ability to create and maintain documentation (ETL designs, technical specs, test cases, test results, project status, deployment plans, etc.)
  • Experience working on projects using Agile, Scrum, or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Prior experience working in a data warehouse environment or on data integration projects a strong plus
  • Property and Casualty Insurance domain experience and/or knowledge is a plus
  • Exposure to and/or experience with MS Azure or other Cloud Platforms a plus
