Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesEmbrace and implement Lean Principles and ElementsMaintain robust reporting methods to all levels of the organizationResponsible for investigating stock discrepancies, including negatives, un-found and sold out, and reporting the information to relevant managers including FinanceAssigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and/or Schedule B and ECCN classificationsCreating Bills of Lading (BOL) and shipping labelsConducting internal audits to review import and export complianceManaging movements of in-house and vendor parts/assembliesCoordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipmentsTracking and fixing shipping errorsNegotiate sea and air freight quotes with carriersInform cost changes, shipment issues, supply concerns to respective personnel and team in timely mannerIdentify opportunities for cost reduction, material flow improvement, and business developmentManaging distribution and shipment budgetsCreate and maintain detailed financial reporting on all import activities including order management, logistics and shippingEnsure that logistics activities follow United States Customs and Border Protection regulationsAny other reasonable duties as and when requestedRequirementsAble to analyze data, extrapolate insights and communicate findings clearly and concisely to managementExcellent problem solving and judgment to drive issue resolution in a timely manner; develops alternative solutionsExperience with managing and expediting parts delivery to meet customer deadlinesProven knowledge of industry standard logistics and trade compliance regulations, including Free Trade Agreements, CFR Title 19, ACE, HTS classificationProficiency working with ERP systemsProficient with MS Office suite - intermediate Excel skillsWorking with all modes of transport to include LTL, T/L, freight forwarders, and brokersStrong International shipping experiencePreferencesPracticing U.S. Customs Broker LicenseCertified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) offered by The Association for Operations Management (APICS)Institute for Supply Management (ISM) C.P.M., CPSM® or CPSM® or The Association for Operations Management (APICS) CPIM, CSCP or CFPIM professional certificationsExperience with Infor Syteline MRP systemBachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, etc.
