GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENTThe Research Assistant I (RA) will support the recruitment efforts of a patient safety study of older hospitalized adults with multiple chronic conditions aimed at designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating digital health methods for empowering patients to locate, collect, and share their electronic health records for research. This work will enhance our existing digital infrastructure by leveraging two open-source projects that have developed core infrastructural building blocks. Our results will provide critical lessons that demonstrate the value of using interoperable standards for empowering patients to share their data for research, and how the combined data can create new knowledge about patient safety risks in older adults who are hospitalized. The RA is expected to work within a multidisciplinary research team. An RA should possess a high level of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, detail-oriented mindset, and critical thinking skills. Specific activities include approaching and re-enrolling eligible patients from two partner studies; serving as a contact person for patients for study-related questions, conducting basic qualitative and quantitative data analyses, conducting interviews under supervision of study investigators, and other activities as requested.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:For all positions that include direct patient care, indicate with an “X” the age(s) of all patient populations servedNo Direct Patient CareXAll age groupsAdolescence (13 to 17 years)Neonates (birth to 1 month)Young Adult (18 to 25 years)Infant (1 month to1year)Adult (26 to 54 years)Early Childhood (12 months to 5 years)Senior Adult (55 to 64 years)Late Childhood (6 to 12 years)Geriatric (65 years and up)
