- Collaborate with PSNS & IMF trade faculty to provide Apprentices and Helpers with relevant, up-to-date training and skills.
- Demonstrate success working with individuals and groups representing a wide range of diverse cultural, geographic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Demonstrate a commitment to teaching students with little or no subject background, as well as the experienced student desiring to further their careers.
- Effectively teach and manage classes with students from a broad spectrum of abilities and experience.
- Support diversity in higher education through the application of multiple teaching pedagogies and the use of diverse resources/voices, as well as by contributing through actions.
- Foster a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.
- Create engaging teaching and learning environments that facilitate student success.
- Provide student education and career advising, mentoring, and support.
- Actively contribute to faculty team meetings and activities to collaboratively complete a variety of program work.
- Participate in continually updating the curriculum.
- Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments in learning environments and activities.
- Utilize a variety of assessment activities to evaluate student learning and achievement.
- Maintain regular office hours for students and colleagues.
- Serve on appropriate college and community committees, including working with the program advisory committee.
- Perform other related duties as assigned and/or required.
- Associate's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Design or a related field
- Two years of industry experience in drafting or technical design
- Basic computer literacy using Microsoft Office products
- Proficient in Computer-Aided Drafting and technical drawing software
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Technical Design, or a related field College teaching experience
- Experience working in an industrial environment
- Expertise in Solid Works, Solid Edge, and Project Management
- Work closely with constituencies throughout campus, the community, consortium colleges, and industry
- Utilize a variety of methods and modes of instruction to ensure student success
- Effectively work with students representing a wide range of diverse cultural, socio-economic, and academic backgrounds
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the classroom and with other professionals
- Teach and contribute through actions or in any other way to the college's diversity
- Collaborate successfully with colleagues, staff, and students as part of an educational team
- Foster a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the Olympic College mission, diversity, and a learning-centered climate
