- Ensure all safety requirements are being followed. Drive hazard recognition in area and closure of findings. Lead/participate in 5-Why’s / 7-Ways incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
- Drive team to achieve 100% first pass yield in all quality requirements.
- Drive scrap reduction and continuous improvement in area.
- Own Tier-1 KPI’s of area (safety/quality/deliver/cost) and drive area communication/alignment with the Tier-1 boards at each work cell.
- Own Hour-X-Hour problem-solving process of area.
- Lead daily start-up and End-of-Shift Tier-1 meetings and participate in department End-of-Shift turnover meetings.
- Communicate proactively and own escalation process of any material shortage, scheduling priority conflicts, quality / engineering issues.
- Act as area/process Subject Matter Expert (SME) and provide suitable training/guidance to enable team member’s growth through the Career Progression Program. This role will not assess team members as part of the Career Progression Program.
- Perform Time Observation studies, Yamazumi labor balancing and creation of Standardized Work Instructions
- Solve problems and make effective decision in a fast-paced environment.
- Perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Conducts daily operator and area audits.
- Follow all material movement and scheduling transactions compliant with standardized work instructions (IQMS, or Kanban if applicable).
- Meets all production requirements by pre-planning and follow up on all jobs having work ready for next shift.
- Anticipate potential issues and plan/implement countermeasures that could arise during completion of future work-orders.
- Lead and participate in 5S transformations, SMED events, TPM events, and capacity/productivity projects
- Lead 5S program for the area.
- Cover absenteeism as required by business-need.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Outstanding communicator.
- Strong demonstrated evidence of hands-on problem-solving capabilities in production environment.
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes.
- Lead by example.
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
- Achieved level S2 certification in all job classifications being led by this role.
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be able to lift to 50 lbs
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screen
