- Curriculum Development: Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Classroom Management: Create a nurturing and stimulating environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Assessment: Conduct ongoing assessments of children's progress to add to portfolios to later be shared with child's parents.
- Parent Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing regular updates on children's development and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about current research and best practices in early childhood education, participating in professional development opportunities as needed, and maintaining compliance with DCF professional development annual hours.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to create a cohesive and supportive educational environment.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and safety standards, maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all children.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or concerns, as required by program policies and regulatory agencies.
- Registry Level 3 or higher.
- Must pass full background check.
- Must clear health screening.
- Previous experience working with young children in a classroom setting.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
- Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the needs of individual children and the classroom as a whole.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid certification (can be obtained upon hire)
- SIDS training (can be obtained upon hire)
- Mandated Reporter training (can be obtained upon hire)
- Abusive Head Trauma training (can be obtained upon hire)
