- Provides personal care to residents in accordance with Brooke Grove Foundation policy and procedure.
- Transport residents safely and professionally to and from the on-site Dialysis Clinic.
- Assist in obtaining accurate weights pre- and post-dialysis treatments.
- Assist residents as needed to ensure safe lifting, moving, and transferring from wheelchairs to dialysis recliners.
- Ensure Dialysis recliners are properly disinfected between each resident.
- Effectively communicate with licensed nurses regarding scheduled progress and the ability to receive and perform additional duties/instructions as assigned.
- Reports all physical and psychological changes in residents to the licensed nurse.
- Assist with meal service between resident treatments.
- Monitors residents during meals. Assists with feeding as necessary, and accurately records and reports intake of food and liquid.
- Assists residents with toileting as needed, including assisting residents with urinals/bedpans, and following through with clean up and disposal in accordance with policy and procedure.
- Maintain proper safety practices and universal precautions in all activities.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to the three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current Maryland state geriatric nursing assistant (GNA) license required or current certified nursing assistant (CNA) license with ability to acquire GNA license within 120 days of hire.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
