- Maintain the company’s compliance with Quality, Environmental, and Health and Safety requirements. Reporting directly to the Quality & EHS Senior Manager and Plant Manager.
- Serve as lead auditor for all internal audits and maintain the records for the team.
- Maintain the plant specific documents and records of compliance.
- Keep track of and record all changes to ISO documentation.
- Comfortable being the final say with quality measurement disputes.
- Ensure your location is Environmentally compliant with Federal, State, and local, legal requirements by staying current on these requirements, conducting inspections, taking measurements, and reporting your findings.
- Audit the plant internally and externally, and support 3rd party audits.
- Take daily plant tours looking for obvious and hidden potential safety hazards and make suggestions for rectifying in a cost-effective compliant manner.
- Observe production processes and make improvements to procedures and safety analysis.
- Review and revise training documents for safety considerations. Be the training subject matter expert and administer orientation safety training to new employees.
- Investigate and document all, incidents, accidents, first aid requirements, and near miss reports.
- Follow up with workers compensation claims if required.
- Determine effective prevention methods and verify implementation.
- Document and photograph the incident scene.
- Serve as lead auditor for all internal audits per the schedule (With Training)
- Complete and document internal audits, prepare audit questions, tweak audit questions based on previous audit results.
- Report internal audit findings during Management Review Meetings and 3rd party audits.
- Monitor quantity and condition of all incoming, storage and disposition of all hazardous and potentially hazardous materials.
- Ensure material is properly labeled and dated.
- Prepare disposal generator statement and shipping manifest and that they are complete and accurate.
- Periodically audit disposal sites to ensure waste is disposed of properly.
- Take ownership of hazardous material storage location(s) within the plant.
- Lead by example all plant safety guidelines; practices and procedures. Must be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Observe PPE compliance by all employees. Help them understand the importance of PPE.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be familiar with computer software programs e.g. Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
- Previous experience reading contracts and legal jargon is a plus.
- Requires good interpersonal skills, dealing with other individuals on all levels.
- Blueprint reading knowledge preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Team player - must be able to work with others and/or alone
- Must have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goals
- Attentive to detail watching for material defects & quality issues.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shift.
- Capable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.
- Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidays.
- This position does not offer a hybrid or remote working schedule.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to dirt/dust, heat/cold, fumes/odors, vibration and wetness.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud but tolerable. PPE is available free of charge.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 1-2+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
- Steel Toe Shoes/Boots, Business Casual attire, PPE
