Position with Gay Project The part time Liaison Officer Position Overview: The Community Liaison Officer at the Gay Project plays a pivotal role in building strong connections, fostering inclusivity, and promoting the well-being of our diverse community. The individual in this role will be responsible for engaging with community members, collaborating with external partners, and facilitating meaningful programs and initiatives that enhance the lives of gay, bi, MSM, queer, trans+ men within our organization. Key Responsibilities: Community Engagement: Develop and maintain strong relationships with members of the LGBTI+ community, ensuring their voices and needs are heard and addressed. Organize and participate in community events, workshops, and forums to promote social interaction, education, and support among community members. Program Implementation: Assist in implementation of Gay Project programs, activities, and initiatives that address the diverse needs of our community, promoting health, well-being, and social cohesion. Crisis Intervention and Support: Provide guidance, information, and emotional support to community members in times of crisis or need, ensuring their well-being and connecting them with appropriate resources. Advocacy and Awareness: Assist in raising awareness about issues affecting GBQTmsm men's well-being, rights, and equality, both within the organization and the broader community. Assist and support the Gay Projects advocacy for policies and initiatives that promote inclusivity, diversity, and equal rights for the LGBTI+ community. Communication and Outreach: Support the Gay Projects efforts in communicating its values, goals, and initiatives to the wider community through various mediums, including social media, newsletters, and public speaking where requested. Data Collection and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities, program participation, and outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes. Requirements: Eligibility to participate on CE is generally linked to those who are 21 years or over and in receipt of a qualifying social welfare payment for 1 year or more or 18 years and over for certain disadvantaged groups.
