Description :At West Fraser, our Reliability Engineer is an integral part of our maintenance team and is focused on improving the uptime of the plant and improving efficiency of the machinery and processes. The reliability engineer will also help drive new ideas, systems, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across our division.What you will do:
  • Analyze plant downtime, quality, safety, and financial data to identify areas of focus for the maintenance and operations teams.
  • Conduct and coordinate failure investigations, including completing root cause analysis, analyzing failure mechanisms, and implementing solutions to improve reliability, quality, safety, and financial performance.
  • Modify machinery and / or processes to improve plant reliability and lower operating costs.
  • Provide support for the preventative and predictive maintenance programs which include vibration analysis, thermography, infrared, oil analysis, precision alignment and others to improve the mill’s reliability program.
  • Take ownership of the division’s hydraulic and compressor programs.
  • Integrate West Fraser’s Best Maintenance Practices into existing and new processes and procedures.
  • Utilize and improve the mill’s computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to manage reliability activities.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of maintenance activities as needed.
  • Identify other opportunities across the site to improve efficiency, lower cost, and reduce waste.
  • Complete other tasks as assigned by West Fraser’s leadership team.
Qualifications you should have:
  • Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or similar Engineering Degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Relevant experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and / or trades experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Condition Monitoring Techniques i.e., Vibration, Thermography, Oil Analysis, Ultrasonic, Lubrication etc.
  • Eligible to legally work in the United States.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or GED.
  • General experience using CMMS programs.
  • Possess a high level or accountability and a focus on personal and team safety.
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and standards.
