Soltage is seeking an experienced senior-level Project Manager to manage multiple distributed utility-scale (2-20 MW) photovoltaic and storage projects in the Midwest, Southwest, Northeast, Southeast and/or Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S. Candidate will have responsibility and management of the entire project life cycle starting with development support and pre-construction activities through final completion of the project, inclusive of equipment selection, equipment procurement, EPC and subcontractor selection and project execution. The project manager will be responsible for project handoff to the asset management and operations teams upon final completion.A successful candidate will have experience in EPC contract management and execution, construction oversight, risk management, procurement of Owner provided materials, and for completing projects safely, on schedule, and within budget while maintaining industry standard quality. The candidate will need to be comfortable managing internal and external financial reporting including project budget, cash management, pay applications, and schedule be reported on a regular basis.This position will be based out of Soltage’s offices in Jersey City, NJ.Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Work with engineering for Design/Constructability review of electrical and civil plans and specifications to be provided to EPC contractors.
  • Manage EPC contract negotiations and contract execution. Prepare RFP package and manage EPC bid response.
  • Project management duties for Distributed Generation sized PV projects 2 MW – 20 MW.
  • Manage the EPC contractors across multiple projects, occasionally in multiple states.
  • Conducting site visits and coordination meetings, inspections, and monitoring construction activities.
  • Manage construction project schedule and maintain critical milestone dates.
  • Responsible for project budgets from post development EPC initiation RFP phase through Final Completion phase of projects.
  • Lead coordination and support of internal project financing and accounting efforts
  • Manage and facilitate vendor selection, procurement process, permitting submission, and submission of interconnection applications.
Desired Qualifications, Experience, Education & Licensure:
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or construction management from an accredited university strongly preferred, 5+ years of progressive Project Management experience, consisting of multiple Distributed Generation Ground Mounted SAT Photovoltaic Solar Farms or Solar PV+BESS projects at one time and in some cases across multiple regions.
  • NABCEP Certification is a plus. PV+BESS experience a plus. PMP Certification is a Plus.
  • Proficient Project management skills, detail oriented and organized.
  • Positive attitude, high energy, supportive team member, problem solver, able to work in a collaborative environment as well as work on self-directed independent projects.
  • Self-motivated with an ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Procore, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Smartsheet and MS Project
  • Have a current US driver’s license.
  • Good working knowledge of the National Electric Code
  • Experience with 3-phase power and utility interconnection process required.
  • Working knowledge of technical programming required for metering/monitoring systems.
  • Travel will be required, estimated 25%
  • OSHA 10, First Aid & CPR Trained.
