Job Purpose/Description
  • The Social Media Ambassador will work with TRIO SSS staff to reimagine how we use social media to support students. The primary focus will be to think creatively about how we can engage students, create community, and communicate important academic information/tools via social media. Students will create content for social media platforms like Instagram, and the content will be a mixture of academic and interpersonal topics.
Job Duties
  • Establish contact and rapport with faculty/staff, departments at CSS, and peers
  • Work collaboratively to create and execute creative and meaningful social media content
  • Conduct weekly interviews with faculty/staff and peers to turn into social media content
  • Meet regularly with SSS staff to ensure compliance with social media use policies and campaigns
  • Complete assigned duties and keep the SSS staff informed of progress with those tasks
  • Attend scheduled meetings, events and programming
Required Qualifications
  • Enrolled in the TRIO SSS program
  • Registration of a minimum of 6 credit hours per term and evidence of a timely degree completion plan
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.0. Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing and meet Satisfactory Academic Progress in accordance with College policies
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated dependability and self-motivation
  • Experience with various social media platforms
