We have a ton of exciting work ahead of us and are excited to have you join us!We are looking for a strategy & operations manager who is obsessed with food, and is excited to combine their culinary knowledge (or hobby) with their executional and operational prowess. Your role will be on a small team with ownership of supply acquisition, onboarding, and management. It's an exciting role for an individual who is execution-focused, analytically-minded, and loves and understands food. The Bay Area team works out of the SF office 3 days per week.Your Responsibilities
  • Define target dishes, menus, cuisines, and categories for the platform
  • Recruit and onboard shefs to build menus of target dishes
  • Facilitate taste testing evaluations to maintain quality bar and filter for high quality newly onboarded shefs
  • Shape supply by coaching and guiding shefs on menu and dish creation (including dish naming, recipe adjustments, menu curation, etc)
  • Merchandise and curate supply on the platform
  • Conceptualize and implement projects to improve quality and supply selection on the platform
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with top shefs to ensure market health
  • Build and roll out processes designed to scale up supply-building efforts
  • Manipulate data in Google Sheets and SQL to evaluate supply, draw insights, plan actions, and execute
What You Bring To The Role
  • Bachelor's degree in any of the following fields, or similar: business, engineering, statistics, operations, economics, food science
  • 3+ years of experience in Consulting / Strategy / Operations
  • Culinary expertise or experience, with language and knowledge to identify menu and dish opportunities
  • Ability to drive sales-like funnel in order to identify and recruit potential shefs
  • Strong sense of empathy and ability to communicate and account manage shefs
  • Keen sense of ownership, where no task is too small or out of your purview
  • Capacity to take initiative in an evolving work environment while maintaining flexibility and a collaborative attitude and getting things done!
  • Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
  • Eagerness to find innovative solutions to the complex problems we're solving at Shef. You balance empathy, logic, and commercial reasoning to make decisions that benefit our shef community and overall operation
