- Monitor patients undergoing routine invasive, interventional procedures. Provide intra-procedural technical support and quality patient/family centered care.
- May be required to perform and record hemodynamic/physiologic wave forms and calculations.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients, families, and all ancillary departments while consistently demonstrating the Corewell Health Standards.
- Perform quality assurance checks on technical equipment. Perform department skills validations.
- Maintain radiation safety standards for staff and patients in compliance with the Corewell Health Radiation Safety Department.
- Required to take On Call per department schedule.
- May be required to provide training to less experienced techs.
- IR Special Procedure Techs must be able to 1st assist physicians using sterile technique, and fully participate in image post processing, cross modality imaging (CT, U/S), 3D imaging, vascular, and cerebral cases if performed at the site.
- Cath Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize IVUS, FFR, OCT, ICE, EKOS, Impella, Cardiac, peripheral, and Carotid interventions.
- EP Lab Special Procedure Techs, if performed at the site, must be able to utilize ICE, participate in device Implants, and circulate in all other EP cases. As well as 3D mapping, advanced EP procedures, and laser lead extractions.
- Interventional Radiology requires completion of an accredited radiography program (JRCERT).
- Cath Lab/EP Lab requires employee to be a graduate of Cardiovascular Technologist program, Associate degree in cardiovascular technology/basic science, Paramedic license, Exercise Physiologist, or equivalent training and/or education.
- Employee must have more than 3 + years of Interventional experience.
- Employee must be an expert and able to train others in the clinical skills listed within below grid per each individual department and/or site scope.
- If the department is a combination of specialties, employee must be an expert in all areas that are performed.
- IR requires BLS certification and active RT status upon hire, and an RT-CV or VI registration.
- Cath Lab requires BLS and ACLS upon hire, Registered RCES/RCIS/RT certification, and IABP certification.
- EP Lab requires BLS and ACLS upon hire. Registered RCIS/RCES/RT.
- Basic computer skills, math skills, exceptional communication skills, and outstanding customer service skills.
- Cath Lab must be on site within 30 min. IR Call response time may vary by facility.
