The Senior Settlements Officer is responsible for providing banking and settlement services, ensuring the safe custody of securities holdings, and maintaining appropriate banking arrangements.This position is central to the day-to-day operations of the banking and settlements team, as it serves as one of the first points of receipt for transactions from the Front Office.Key Responsibilities
- Settlement confirmations: review and forward settlement confirmations to clients.
- Processing/ authorisation /reconciliation of transactions.
- Create and send payements
- Process daily cash sweep.
- Process cash movements as required.
- Reconciliation of accounts.
- Assist in process improvement recommendations/implementation.
- Ensure process procedures are in place and updated as necessary.
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, preferably in Business, Commerce, or Finance.
- 5+ years' experience in a similar position
- Understanding of Treasury and Financial Markets.
- Understanding of financial instruments including derivatives.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
