Test Systems Requirements EngineerBristol (hybrid working – 2-3 days on site per week) – 6 month duration – Pay rate £46.15 p/h PAYE basic (£52.86 including holiday pay) or £60 p/h UmbrellaWe are looking to recruit a Test Systems Requirements Engineer for our client, a leading defence company. Weapon System Equipment plays a key role in the development and delivery of client products. We operate across the full range of Operational Commands including Land, Naval, Airborne and, increasingly the Novel Capability domains ensuring our clients systems remain at the forefront of defence capability. We specialise in providing physical design coherency across Weapon Systems for all phases of the development cycle and ultimately responsible for the system elements that our end users interact with. Initiatives undertaken by Weapon System Equipment have transformed the way in which the company delivers products. Our presence in the company is expanding and Weapon System Equipment would like to recruit people who want to expand their knowledge and grow their network with like-minded engineers.Responsibilities:The Test Equipment and Testability mission is to:
  • Deliver world-class Test Solutions, Environment Simulators and Emulators internally as well as to our Customer's Armed Forces
  • Contribute to international Weapon System Test Equipment Strategy, bringing the UK perspective to bear and balancing the need for technology re-use with the need to exploit emerging technology trends
  • Apply the Weapon System Test Equipment and Testability Strategies to all new programmes, as well as through-life enhancement upgrades.
For this role, you should be able to demonstrate your ability to:
  • Define clear requirements and acceptance criteria
  • Develop and understand interface specifications for interfacing subsystems
  • Understand the role of automated and semi-automated test equipment in the product verification and manufacture of electronic equipment
  • Work with multi-discipline engineering team (e.g. Systems, mechanical, electrical, software, manufacturing etc…)
  • Capture transversal engineering partner needs (e.g. Safety, Cyber, Human Factors, Customer Support Services, etc)
Skillset required:This role is primarily focussed on capturing high quality requirements for test equipment used in electronics and software development labs, as well as the manufacturing environment. To achieve this, you will capture the needs of a wide variety of stakeholders and structure the requirements set in accordance with the Test and Testability Leads product strategy.Proven ability in DOORS or similar toolset and knowledge of the design stage of the product lifecycle is highly beneficial.Additional information:Please note, due to the sensitive nature of the projects involved, all candidates must be capable of gaining a UK MOD Security Clearance to SC level. If you are not currently SC cleared the client will sponsor a new application for you, although this will need to have completed before you start.This role shall operate inside IR35.
