Job Summary Plans,prepares, cooks and serves nutritional meals and snacks in accordance withestablished guidelines and schedules; ensures all meals are prepared and servedin a safe and presentable manner; cleans kitchen facilities, equipment, andappliances; maintains inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat andorderly manner. Performsa variety of housekeeping duties for a camp; cleans restrooms, offices, andother camp facilities; washes, stores, and distributes linens; ensures theneatness and cleanliness of the camp facilities on a daily basis. This is asplit position designed to cover two main responsibilities (cooking andcleaning).Due to the nature of camp and the camping season,this position will flex and adapt based upon the needs at the time.Essential FunctionsThis job description should not be interpreted as allinclusive. The incumbent may be requested to perform job-relatedresponsibilities and tasks other than those stated in this job description.Cooking(50%)Plansmenus and purchases food and supplies necessary for the preparation and servingof nutritional meals.Cleans,cooks, and prepares a variety of foods and beverages utilizing kitchenequipment, utensils, and supplies in accordance with acceptable and economicalcooking methods.Ensuresthat enough food is prepared based on the number of people to be served andthat food is prepared in a timely manner as scheduled.Servesfood and beverages in a presentable manner; prepares plates for infants orpersons requiring additional assistance.Cleanstables, chairs, floors, dishes, utensils, and kitchen appliances.Stores,refrigerates, and freezes foods in a safe and economical manner; monitorsexpiration dates on all foods ensuring proper disposal of food with expireddates.Preparessnacks and prepares plates of food for people eating after normal servinghours.Maintainsa high degree of cleanliness in the kitchen and dining room; ensures that allmeals are prepared in a safe manner; ensures all kitchen personnel practiceproper personal hygiene. Maintains proper supply and orderliness of kitchen stockinventory in order to meet the needs of the kitchen; orders, receives, andprocesses food purchases; verifies that invoices are accurate and submits forfurther processing.Housekeeping(50%)Cleans camp facilities and offices; collects,washes, folds, stores, and distributes linens; ensures the accountability oflinens.Maintains staff laundry schedule on rotation aswell as daily laundering of staff laundry. Washes all linens from dining room after eachmeal and ensure linen is restocked.Washes camper's laundry when necessary.
