The Accountant II - HQ is responsible for conducting accounting operations in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) for any accounting entities or special projects conducted by EDEN. This position works closely with all departments within the agency as well as our partners to ensure compliance with all programs and audit requirements.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS1. Prepares budgets annually for HQ cost centers, EDEN Owned Properties and Future Directions and provides actual vs. variance explanations monthly to the respective Accounting Manager.
2. Prepares, examines, and analyzes financial statements for HQ cost centers, ADAMHS Owned Properties and Future Directions.
3. Manages accruals and prepaids for HQ cost centers.
4. Assists with Construction accounting.
5. Reviews and manages inventory spreadsheets and A/P invoices for EDEN and LIHTC projects.
6.Manages EDEN monthly credit card spreadsheet and prepare the invoice for A/P posting each month.
7. Performs monthly bank reconciliations as assigned.
8. Prepares monthly draws and financial reports, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with agreement terms for EDEN internal COC grants.
9.Interpret provisions in grant/contract documents relating to payment terms, billing, limitations on cost, and requirements for budget modifications and extensions.
10.Perform monthly and annual reconciliations of revenue, cash receipts, and other project activity against the general ledger and project ledgers.
11. Works closely with program staff to monitor spending, compliance, and the need for budget modifications and/or extensions.
12.Review partner agency invoices submitted to EDEN for billing and prepare draw in timely manner.
13. Interact with project teams, senior management, and funding agencies to resolve financial and billing issues.
14. Oversees timely and accurate general ledger accounting in accordance with GAAP and EDEN's policies, including:
a. Monthly internal financial statement procedures
b. EDEN's Cost Allocation Policy
15.Assists the CFO in the preparation of audit workpapers requested during the organization's external annual audit.
16.
