In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that customer requirements and specifications are met by providing cradle-to-grave oversight of the specification, design, integration, and acceptance testing of Acutronic products. Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.Controls Engineer IYour Roles/Responsibilities:
  • Review customer Statement of Work (SOW) and technical specifications, providing feedback on missing or insufficiently defined requirements, technical risks, and optimal system architecture
  • Contribute to internal and customer design reviews, with responsibilities typically including:
  • Electro-mechanical power units
  • Selection of actuators and transmissions
  • Design of control systems and overall system modeling using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Creation and maintenance of the motion system Acceptance Test Procedure document
  • Serve as the lead system integrator for standard electric systems, including but not limited to:
  • Indirect drive, high-speed, high-accuracy systems
  • Single and dual three-axis systems
  • Centrifuges
  • Linear actuation systems
  • Robotic manipulators
  • Auxiliary integration responsibilities include hands-on debugging and correction of residual electrical and mechanical issues
  • Primary integration responsibilities include:
  • Calibration of feedback systems
  • Configuration of safety interlocks
  • Compensation of control loops (amplifier current loop, motion loops)
  • Final acceptance testing
  • Customer operational training
Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university, required.
  • Basic familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
