- Become knowledgeable of Teledyne FLIR gas chromatography–mass spectrometry and biological detection products and services.
- Perform installation of Teledyne FLIR hardware and software in the field.
- Provide training on the use of product hardware and software both in house and in the field.
- Troubleshoot and repair GC/MS and Bio instruments both in house and in the field.
- Manage and resolve customer concerns in a professional, pleasant, and responsive manner.
- Document appropriate questions, techniques, and solutions in the product knowledge base (JIRA program or formal documentation)
- Travel is expected (both domestic and international) to be at least 25%
- Participate in ongoing internal training programs.
- Background must include:
- ASEET and 2 years of relevant work experience; or
- BSEET degree and one year of relevant work experience; or
- BS degree in a science discipline and 1 or more years work experience with GC/MS instruments.
- Experience required in the assembly and/or repair of:
- Surface mount components
- Printed circuit boards from engineering drawings
- Cable assemblies and harnesses from engineering drawings
- Vacuum lines and tubing
- Complex electro-mechanical instruments
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical assembly drawings
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with team members and customers.
- Prior experience with Mass Spectrometers (FLIR or competitor) would be a plus.
- Prior military experience would be a plus.
- Ability to travel (both domestic and international) expectation is 25%.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
