- Under the direction of the Physician-in-Chief for Surgery, Orthopedic Physician Supervisor and receiving oversight and supervision from a consulting Orthopedist, perform diversified duties in being responsible for the medical and surgical care of patients assigned under direction of individual attending Physicians under the rules and regulations of Massachusetts governing Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner practices.
- Provide a variety of inpatient care and services to include inpatient consultation, emergency room consultation, outpatient clinic and surgical first assist (if qualified), under the supervision of individually assigned Physician as part of daily activities.
- Adheres to all quality of care measure and patient safety standards.
- Monday through Friday varied shifts ranging from 0700-1630 or 1000-1930.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
- Certification by the National Commission of Physician Assistants within one year of hire is required.
- Family Nurse Practitioner: Master of Science Degree in Nursing is required. Family Nurse Practitioner required to see patients of all ages. Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required. Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
- Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License is required.
- One year Orthopedic experience required.
