Enjoy a 12 hour shift on a 2-2-3 Night Shift schedule with three day weekends every other weekend! Starting at $21.71/hour plus $1.20 night shift premium. With this schedule, you work half the month, which means half the year. Shift schedules provided for the entire year!ROLE OVERVIEWAmcor is currently seeking enthusiastic, accountable employees for these Machine Assistant positions! Employees support our World Class Operations by engaging in team activities and continuously improving the business.While working in the Extrusion or Rewind department you will be given an opportunity to develop your skills through our training programs. You start as an Assistant to learn the basics, and you will have various opportunities to cross-train and develop new skill sets for a successful career at Amcor.WHAT YOU GET TO DO AS AN EXTRUSION ASSISTANT:
  • Read job specifications to determine cores, primers, and other supplies needed by the operator for each product produced
  • Assist machine operator in setting up the machine, cleanups/startups, and shutdowns
  • Load and remove rolls of stock material onto the unwind of the extrusion coater/laminator by using an overhead hoist system
  • Prepare material to be properly stored and accurately returned to inventory using lift trucks
  • Backup to Operator : act as backup operator when operator is away from the machine during breaks, meetings, and other times as needed
  • Assist on machine maintenance and other plant cleaning as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FOR MACHINE ASSISTANTS:
  • Ability to lift up to 30 - 50 lbs
  • Willing and able to stand and walk for 12 hour shift
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
  • Frequent use of wrist and hands
  • Frequent stepping up and down from platforms

WHAT WE WANT FROM YOU:
  • Previous manufacturing experience a plus, not required
  • Previous experience in extrusion, lamination, coating, and/or rewind a plus, not required
  • Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Required to have visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors
  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment
