Seeking an IT Technical Writer to join our Technology Solutions team, supporting continued evolution of our systems architecture and internal standard operating procedures as we build technology solutions for our Dallas Fund Administration and Accounting business. This is a remote contract position.The IT Technical Writer / Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing processes and systems then creating and maintaining documentation. This role will collaborate with technical staff and business subject matter experts to create and maintain clear documentation. This role includes responsibilities for a variety of technical documentation including technical specifications, architectural diagrams, risk and security documents, runbooks, user guides, process documents, requirements documentation, acceptance criteria documentation, test case documentation, wiki information and status monitoring and reporting.Responsibilities :
  • Gather and analyze information to understand technical context and purpose of the documentation.
  • Read existing technical materials and conduct collaborative interviews with technical staff, business staff and stakeholders to obtain details that will be articulated in the documentation.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including user guides, system manuals, process documents, wiki information, runbooks, as well as architecture, risk and security documentation.
  • Develop training materials and facilitate knowledge transfer sessions as needed.
  • Ensure documentation adheres to established standards, templates, and style guides.
  • Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy, completeness and clarity.
  • Create process flows for Information Risk Management process areas.
  • Create and/or update standard operating procedure documents that align with the company's policies to keep up with changes in an evolving control landscape.
  • Maintain and update Wiki pages to clearly document design and architecture of technology solutions.
  • Participate as a versatile member of our Technology Solutions team, fulfilling team assignments by taking on overflow and backfill tasks as needed for other team members that may sometimes fall outside of typical responsibilities.
Skills & Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Technical Communication, English, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting) or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in software development or IT environments.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in the financial services industry, particularly fund administration or private equity, is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and software development life cycles is preferred.
  • Working knowledge and experience in Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Development Operations (DevOps), and IT Service Management practices is preferred.
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps, ServiceNow is a plus.
