Seeking an agriculture science teacher with a focus in agriculture mechanics and willing to teach other courses if needed.
Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in societyQualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for Vocational Agricultural.
Ability to meet Highly Effective standards in appropriate academic areas
Demonstrated competence in the core academic subject area assigned
Preferred: 3 years of welding experienceSpecial Knowledge/Skills/Willingness:Must work with the present teacher to operate a comprehensive agriculture program that includes a variety of agricultural course offerings.
Must be willing to complete the qualification process to teach a dual credit welding certification program through IISD’s college partner
Help supervise agricultural experience projects (including but not limited to livestock, ag mechanics, horticulture, and science fairs)
Must be organized and keep work area neat
Assist students in completing online record books, advanced awards, degrees, scholarships
Train existing and new LDE and CDE teams to maintain a high level of competitiveness at the state level
Working relationship with County Extension Agent/4-H Clubs and promoting chapter program throughout school and community
Strong interpersonal and public relations skills and strong work ethic as well as classroom management with a willingness to work around active student schedules
Must have the initiative to work before and after school, some weekends, and attend numerous summer events and be dedicated, motivated, and willing to travel
