At New Balance, we seek active learners who love to use modern technology to solve challenging problems.This position is on-site Monday - Friday, 5 days a week.MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide timely support services to on-site and remote employees with requests and technical issues.
- Act as a primary technical contact for network troubleshooting and resolution of issues and requests around site-level WAN connectivity, LAN, WiFi, Internet Access, and Network Security / Firewalls.
- Provide basic network maintenance, following guidelines, standards, and best practices.
- Assist Network Engineers with network upgrades, refreshes, and project-related work.
- Provide basic secondary support for end-user technology including end-user devices, end-user requests, etc., in backing up or assisting a peer who is primarily responsible for end-user technology.
- Diligently document information in service management tools related to changes, incidents, problems, and asset/CMDB-related records.
- Conduct Changes and Incident Management following ITIL-based best practices.
- Assist in identifying and documenting resolution gaps within the Infrastructure Support.
- Support and maintain effective relationships with:
- End users up to the executive level
- Vendors and third-party providers
- Identify and drive Continuous Process Improvement opportunities.
- Participate in special projects and other related duties, including lifting parts and packaging, as required.
- Manage or contribute to small or intermediate-size technology projects.
- Work with 3rd party vendors and contractors.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a technical support, helpdesk, or network support position (cabling, DHCP, and DNS understanding) at a large enterprise.
- Basic switching/routing cert (e.g. CCNA) or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge in the following:
- Layer 2 network protocols.
- Layer 3 / routing protocols.
- DNS, DHCP, IPAM.
- WAN, LAN, Internet, Site-to-Site VPN, Client VPN, Internet access, Firewall configuration.
- Firewalls, network encryption, network access control, segmentation, and other security-related concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Experience using common network management tools.
- Ability to lift, bend, twist, and be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.
