- Fully proficient designer that creates mechanical designs for skid mounted Gas Processing equipment/piping, subassemblies, assemblies, or systems configurations using AutoCAD, CADWorx 3-D piping or manual systems; compiling bills of materials and has a working knowledge of structural detailing, piping isometrics and ASME vessels.
- Generates complex drawings of Gas Processing Packages (refrigeration, amine treatment, Cryo, etc.), and related components with minimal supervision from design engineer.
- Supports the department by studying engineering sketches, specifications and supporting documents in order to design, detail, document and verify mechanical/electrical parts, subassemblies, assemblies, or systems configurations.
- Prepares drawing bills of material for data input into MRP system.
- Capable of detailing/dimensioning fabrication drawings with relevant and accurate information and completing as-built drawings for finished products.
- Ensures quality of drawings and functionality of equipment; performs various calculations such as weights of individual and combined equipment and skid components, frequently using charts and tables.
- Analyzes the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems; recommending possible solutions or alternate construction.
- Modifies drawings as requested; confers with engineers to resolve issues; adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Creates pipe spool details, 3-Dimensional models, and fabrication drawings depicting relationship of components and parts; identifies dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerance, and materials; prepares bills of materials and specifications.
- Creates documentation required and ensures adherence to designated quality, is conscientious and has a general knowledge of cost and package layout efficiency.
- Works directly with project engineers, purchasing, fabrication shop, outside fabricators to coordinate with project designs.
- Must comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Proficient using AutoCAD 2020
- Requires thorough knowledge of drafting standards, P&ID's, and AutoCAD software
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient using CADWorx Plant Pro 2020. (3-D Modeling)
- Associate degree in ME, Drafting, or related field
- Experience with Gas Processing and Treating plant layout and skid design
- Five or more (5+) years designing Skid Mounted Oil and Gas Production Equipment.
- Requires use of computers, drafting tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
- Good organizational and planning skills
- Coordinate with others to accomplish objectives
- Proficient using 3-D CAD design. Ability to visualize in three dimensions.
- Knowledge of valves, fittings, and equipment used in product design and the required ratings and specifications at all design conditions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Proficient using complete Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) and PC skills
- Proficient with email system; Microsoft Outlook preferred
- Strong creative ability to design and develop mechanical equipment
- Self-motivated, ability to work under general supervision, close attention to detail
- Clear and concise verbal and written communications
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
