- Guides, directs and manages the overall manufacturing and operations activities of the facility including capital planning, staffing, budgeting, and ensures all activities support and drive the corporate strategic initiatives. .
- Champions the commitment to safety of all personnel in the facility.
- Responsible for tactical direction of facilities, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing operations, and testing.
- Responsible for operational performance, strategic direction, and project execution for delivering operations objectives.
- Works through managers and supervisors to maintain and improve safe, high quality and efficient operations.
- Mentors managers, supervisors, manufacturing engineers and other manufacturing supervisory personnel.
- Directs the preparation of short term and long range plans and budgets, and growth objectives.
- Develops proposals for capital expenditures and makes budget recommendations for all responsible areas. Coordinates major equipment purchases, and plans and documents facilities layout for optimal utilization.
- Responsible for managing preventative maintenance and repairs in facility. Assures the optimal functioning of all building systems and oversees outside contractors who perform repairs and provide services to the facility.
- Evaluates the results of overall operations regularly and systematically and reports these results to the Sr. VP of Manufacturing.
- Responsible for operating a site with minimal direction.
- Engages in leadership and development of staff and coworkers thru the principles of servant leadership
- Represents the company in discussions with customers and suppliers.
- Ensures that all operations are carried out in accordance with local, provincial, and federal regulations and laws governing business and employment compliance.
- Completion of a Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited university or college
- Five to ten years or more of related experience or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, the general public, and senior management.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of the key principles and best practices in LEAN manufacturing
