- Identification, recruitment, scheduling, payment, and counseling of prospective research subjects. Includes identification of candidates for research program, screening and enrollment of candidates, organization and scheduling of subject visits to the laboratory, and counseling and consent process for research project protocols.
- Collection of data. Administers experimental protocols with human subjects, including assessment of pure tone thresholds, speech perception performance, working memory ability, distortion product otoacoustic emissions, acoustic reflexes, electrophysiology (auditory brainstem response and envelope following response), pupillometry, and administration of questionnaires. Adheres to Internal Review Board protocols and assists Research Assistant with IRB regulatory paperwork, including continuing reviews and modifications.
- Assistance with data processing and analysis and preparation of presentations and manuscripts. Statistical analysis and database update/management. Collaboration with Research Assistants, other Research Audiologists, and PI toward the identification and enrollment of study participants, completion of research projects, manuscripts, data management and interpretation, and grant application and preparation.
- Doctor of Audiology or PhD OR
- Master’s in Audiology with 2 years of experience
- Knowledge of and experience with database and spreadsheet systems. Must possess excellent clinical skills and be comfortable working with human subjects in a research environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills also required. Organized and methodical in collecting and documenting processes and data.
- Eligible for Oregon state Audiology license.
- One or more years of research experience.
- Experience with electrophysiological testing. Experience with writing and editing manuscripts. Familiar with HIPAA and IRB requirements for human subjects research. Experience with programming in Python.
- Clinical Certification in Audiology (CCC-A).
