Job SummaryParticipates in assessing community and program participant needs, planning, evaluation, implementing and revising educational programs, curriculum, and related materials. Assists in developing course or training program content. Conducts educational sessions to prepare clients for birth and related prenatal/perinatal experiences. Facilitates and supports additional learning opportunities for the organization and the community. Uses evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training. Participates in maintaining records regarding educational programs.Must be flexible enough to work 4hr, 3hr, or 5hr shifts between the hours of 9am to 9pm.Preferred: Certified in lactation (CBC, CLC and/or IBCLC)Essential Functions
  • Conducts educational sessions to prepare clients for birth and related prenatal/perinatal experiences. Ensures that each individual receives appropriate information related to educational session.
  • Facilitates client participation in classes utilizing a variety of adult education principles.
  • Facilitates and supports additional learning opportunities for the organization and the community.
  • Serves as a resource for clients and professionals. Participates in new employee orientation.
  • Provides input to determine measurable goals and objectives. Assists in planning, developing and implementing evaluation tools to measure the effectiveness of training.
  • Assists in development of course content, curriculum, pamphlets, and presentations. Suggests modifications to course or program content or methodologies as indicated. Identifies problems, through client feedback, that curriculum changes could improve. Participates in studies and projects to improve course or curriculum content, interaction of educators and clients, and reports findings.
  • Secures speakers, coordinates schedules, and promotes educational events.
  • Maintains data with complete, accurate, and timely information as required by standards established by the organization or by law or regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in health-related field or other applicable field
  • 2 years of relevant experience health care setting including education and program planning, obstetrics, or lactation experience Required
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan required Or
  • CRT-Childbirth Educator (CCE) - PCE Prepared Childbirth Educators preferred
  • CRT-Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Certified (LCCE) - preferred
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 60 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 60 Days required
