Job Description:Job Summary:The Chief Accounting Officer is responsible for the oversight of all Controllership, Procure to Pay, Credit to Cash and M&A activities. This includes all accounting & reporting activities, ensuring compliance with BDO's credit agreement, policies, and internal controls as well as payroll, procurement, billings, collections, and contract administration.Job Duties:
  • Acts as a strategic business partner to the CFO and the executive leadership team
  • Establish and implement strategic priorities to support organizational initiatives (including ESOP transition, annual audit readiness / US GAAP conversion and transition of ERP system)
  • Supports M&A initiatives with oversight of deal economics, purchase accounting, and onboarding activities
  • Coordinates annual audit with both internal and external parties
  • Coordinates annual ESOP activities
  • Assists in the creation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with US GAAP and support an effective internal control environment
  • Oversees day-to-day activities within the P2P, C2C, and Controllership areas; collaborates with direct reports to implement strategic improvements in each of their respective areas
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests in an accurate and timely manner
  • Other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Monitors and provides performance feedback of all personnel reporting to this position
  • Delivers timely communication to both direct and indirect personnel
  • Ensures all direct reports are effectively trained on systems and processes
Assists direct reports with prioritization of workload, communications, etc. and delegates work assignments to direct reports as appropriateQualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Education:
  • Bachelor's degree, required; focus in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance, preferred
Experience:
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of financial experience, required
  • Experience utilizing knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures, required
  • Eight (8) or more years of management experience, preferred
  • Experience with a multi-entity / multi-currency company, preferred
  • Experience with a Public Accounting Firm as an experienced Senior or Manager level, preferred
  • Experience with a multi-entity / multi-currency company, preferred
  • Experience with a company with revenue size of at least $750 million, preferred
License/Certifications:
  • CPA, required
Software:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, required

  • Displays superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with professionals at all levels
