We are an established Commercial General Contractor (35+ years!) based out of Olathe KS, and we are growing. We focus on commercial and industrial projects, and We're looking for a construction professional to join our team as an Assistant Project Manager. If you have experience on commercial construction projects (ground-up and TI), working for a commercial GC, and you're early in your Project Management Career, we'd love to speak with you!Assistant Project ManagerAs an APM, you should have experience working for a general contracting company in some capacity - preferably with experience working on ground-up and TI projects. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or similar would be great, but we would also accept experience in the field or working as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.Position Overview:The Assistant Project Manager will assist the Project Manager in managing and overseeing construction projects. This role will support the successful delivery of all projects and ensure all assigned projects are completed within the required timeline and budget. In this position, you will have a clear track to grow into a Project Management position if you do well.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the management of construction projects from concept to completion.
  • Support the Project Manager in the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Analyze and review project information, including estimates, drawings, contract documents, and change orders.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other project personnel to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure quality control standards are met.
  • Manage the project budget, and track labor, materials, and other costs.
  • Provide timely and accurate project updates to management.
  • Ensure all projects are completed in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience working with a General Contractor, either in project management, project engineering, project coordinating, or similar.
  • Knowledge of preconstruction and budgeting.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects at once.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other project management software.
