Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Head of Finance, for our client, a charity organisation, based in Kildare.As the Head of Finance, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and accountability of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll lead the finance team and work closely with the Board of Management to drive financial compliance and support the achievement of objectives.Working with this organisation will provide you with the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individualsThis is a permanent position with a flexible hybrid working model.Hours of work are 9am - 5.30pm Monday - Friday.Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Support the CEO and Board of Management to ensure financial compliance and accountability for the entirety of financial operations.
  • Establish and monitor financial policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Undertake a leadership role within the Senior Management Team as a key member.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive and value-driven culture on the team.
  • Initiate and lead organizational change efforts to establish and integrate process improvements.
  • Lead, direct, coordinate, and delegate team tasks effectively, ensuring consistent and high-quality support.
  • Manage and oversee budgetary allocations, resource allocation and review of financial accounts and financial reporting.
  • Actively contribute to advancing the organization's mission, vision, and values in daily activities.
  • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the finance department.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders external to the organization, including auditors and advisors.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for the finance team, ensuring high standards of performance.
What are we looking for?
  • A fully qualified registered accountant.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience at senior management/board level of an organisation.
  • Minimum 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in negotiation with external stakeholders on funding levels and service arrangements.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), including collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in relevant IT skills (Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, OneDrive & Teams).
